You are most cordially invited to attend what promises to be one of the most outstanding art events of 2003. The Oil Painters of America 12th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Representational Oil Paintings will provide the extraordinary opportunity of viewing in one setting paintings by 200 of the top representational oil painters in the United States and Canada. Nichols Taos Fine Art Gallery has made a wonderful commitment in putting together plans for this most memorable occasion. Support from the Taos community has been overwhelming.
The competition among the artists to participate is intense -which will result in a selection of only the very best art available. It is seldom that art connoisseurs have the opportunity to see and purchase paintings by so many excellent artists in one location. In addition, many of the artists will be present at the reception to discuss their work.

A Word from Your Host
My name is Richard Alan Nichols, Artist and Gallery owner. I would like to personally invite you to the Oil Painters of America 12th Annual National Exhibition to be held in America's art Mecca, Taos, New Mexico. The Taos/Santa Fe art market has just been ranked as second only to New York City as the place to purchase art in the United States by American Style Magazine. For over a century, Taos has been a beacon not only for artists but also a place where collectors purchase fine art. Our Town of Taos, the New Mexico Department of Tourism, the Taos Chamber of Commerce and all of our fellow Taos galleries are encouraging your participation to make the 12th Annual Oil Painters of America National Exhibition a spectacular event.
As a kick-off to the month-long event, the gallery is hosting a black tie Patron's Dinner on Thursday, May 1. Our caterer, Master Chef Joseph Wrede, is ranked as one of the top six chefs in the United States. Also, we invite you be a guest at the gallery on Friday, May 2 at a "By Invitation Only" preview of the show and the awarding of prizes.
Saturday, May 3, will be the Grand Opening for the public and the first-come, first-served sale of the juried artworks. Master Signature Member's artwork will be "Shoe boxed" and sales will start around 7:00 pm. If there is no card in the box, then works are for sale to the first buyer. This website will display all of the paintings in the show and will accept purchases starting on Sunday, May 11. We are expecting 500-1,000 art buyers to attend the show the first weekend.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, with demonstrations, seminars and workshops from Master Signature Members, nationally and regionally-known artists during the Month of May, The Primavera Exhibition and, of course, The Taos Spring Arts Celebration.
